As of October 9, 2026, the ATF no longer requires a Form 4, tax stamp or registration for suppressors, SBRs, SBSs and AOWs. Louisiana residents complete a Form 4473 and background check at our Lafayette counter, the same as any other firearm. Machine guns and destructive devices still go through the full NFA process.
