The FN 509 Midsize MRD pairs a 4" barrel and slide with a midsize frame for a pistol that is easier to conceal. Its optics-ready slide uses the FN Low Profile Optics Mounting System for direct mounting of a range of mini red dots, and it has fully ambidextrous controls, a flat-faced trigger, two interchangeable backstraps and a Picatinny accessory rail.
