Atlas Gunworks Pistols

Atlas Gunworks builds hand-fitted 2011-style (double-stack 1911) competition and carry pistols in Shelburne, Vermont. The company was started by USPSA shooter Adam Nilson and master machinist Tod West, two friends tired of waiting years for custom race guns, and mentored by IPSC World Champion Allan Zitta. Its mission has not changed: deliver remarkable guns, shorten lead times and take care of shooters — and in 2026 Atlas’s message is simply that lead times are gone. Cajun Gun And Gear is the only authorized Atlas Gunworks dealer in the state of Louisiana.

Every current Atlas is built on the v3 Perfect Zero platform: a Vermont-machined billet slide, a redesigned optics plate with two extra mounting holes (still compatible with v2 pistols), a Glock-style interchangeable front sight with no dovetail, patent-pending angled grip bushings that stop a magazine from being over-inserted, refined grip texture, a 19 lb mainspring and a trigger that averages about 3 lb with a sub-2 lb option. Atlas recommends service every 10,000 rounds and backs each pistol with a one-year muzzle-to-magwell warranty — Atlas pays two-day shipping both ways — followed by a limited lifetime warranty.

The lineup covers every job: the 5-inch Titan for Limited, the sight-block Artemis for Limited Optics, the compensated Erebus for Open and 3-Gun, the ported Apollo for shooters who are not tied to a division, the 4.6-inch Athena for duty and competition, and the 4.25-inch Nyx and steel-frame EOS for carry. Each ships with the optics plate of your choice, three grip panels, three magazines, a soft case and a presentation box.

Atlas pistols in stock in Lafayette are listed on each model page below. Because Atlas inventory moves quickly, any model can be ordered even when it is not on the shelf; out-of-state customers can have their pistol shipped to a local FFL.

All current models are 9mm with a 19 lb mainspring and a 3 lb average trigger (sub-2 lb available). Atlas sizes magazines by length rather than round count: 126mm and 140mm mags ship with most models, 120mm with the EOS.

Retired Atlas Models

Atlas has retired the Ares (aluminum-frame carry/duty), Chaos (Open-class flagship — Atlas says an all-new Chaos is coming), Helios (IDPA ESP), Hyperion (3-Gun with the modular Alpha Grip), Nemesis (the original sight-block Limited gun), Nyx 3.5, Titan Operator and Titan Single Stack. The limited-edition Hades, a ported and compensated V2 pistol, was the send-off for the previous platform, and Project Alias is a 2026 collaboration with Agency Arms in which each pistol is hand-fit start to finish by a single master gunsmith. Used and collector examples occasionally pass through our shop; ask if you are looking for one.

What does “v3 Perfect Zero” mean?

v3 is the current Atlas platform generation — billet slides, the redesigned optics plate, angled grip bushings and the Glock-style front sight. Perfect Zero is Atlas’s name for its sight-return engineering: softer, flatter recoil so the sights settle back on the same point of aim after every shot.

Which Atlas should I buy for USPSA Limited or Limited Optics?

The 5-inch Titan v3 is the classic Limited gun, and the sight-block Artemis v3 is the Limited Optics favorite. Both are non-ported and non-compensated.

Which Atlas is for Open or 3-Gun?

The Erebus v3, a light compensated pistol with a slide-ride optic built for Open Class 3-Gun. The ported Apollo v3 is the choice if you are not tied to a division.

Which Atlas is best for carry?

The Nyx v3 RDS (4.25", 35.71 oz) and the steel-frame EOS v3 (4.25", ported, 34.78 oz) are the carry models; the 4.6-inch Athena v3 is the duty-oriented option.

What caliber are Atlas pistols?

Every current Atlas model is chambered in 9mm.

How many rounds do Atlas magazines hold?

Atlas lists magazines by length: in 9mm a 126mm magazine holds about 17 rounds, a 140mm about 20, and the EOS’s 120mm about 15. Restricted-state magazines are substituted where required.

What optics fit an Atlas v3?

The v3 plate system covers Trijicon RMR/SRO and RCR, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, SIG Romeo 3 Max/XL, C-More RTS2 and Vortex Razor, Holosun 509 and 507c, Aimpoint Acro P1/P2, Vortex Venom/Viper and Docter/Fastfire footprints, plus an adjustable iron-sight plate. One plate of your choice is included.

What is the Atlas Gunworks warranty?

One year muzzle-to-magwell covering everything except over-pressure from improper ammunition, with Atlas paying two-day shipping both ways; after that, a limited lifetime warranty on manufacturer defects and premature wear. Magazines carry their own repair/replace warranty.

How much do Atlas Gunworks pistols cost?

Atlas does not publish MSRPs; current pricing is on each product listing below or available by phone. Expect the lineup to run from the Nyx and Titan at the lower end to the Artemis and Erebus at the top.
