The Ranger 9Ci brings Miller Precision’s ported island barrel to the compact 4.4-inch Ranger: a fixed front-sight block on the barrel, ports to flatten recoil, and a size that still fits a duty or carry holster. It launched together with the full-size 9i as the newest additions to the Ranger 9 line.

It shares the Ranger DNA — linkless barrel for easy takedown and user barrel swaps, patent-pending Easy Adjust trigger set at 2 to 2.5 lb, patent-pending reversible magazine release, ambidextrous slide stop and safeties, external extractor and Miller’s proprietary optic-plate system with co-witness irons — and ships with a tactical magwell, pinned grip safety and blackout sights.

Who the Ranger 9Ci is for

Shooters who carry or run a compact 2011 but want the recoil control of a ported island barrel. The plain-barrel Ranger 9C is the same size with night sights and a functional grip safety; the Ranger 9SC is the smaller carry gun.

Miller does not spell it out, but the 9Ci is the compact (4.4-inch) island-barrel Ranger, matching the 9C’s length with the 9i’s ported island barrel.

Is the grip safety active on the 9Ci?

No. The 9Ci ships with a pinned, non-functional grip safety; the Ranger 9C is the model that ships with a functional one.

What magazines does the Ranger 9Ci use?

Standard 2011 magazines. It ships with two Atlas Gunworks magazines; dealers list the compact Rangers with 15-round mags.

Can I run a red dot on the 9Ci?

Yes. The slide uses Miller’s optic-plate system with co-witness irons; an RMR/SRO plate is included and Acro, DeltaPoint Pro, Holosun K/RMSc and RMRcc plates are available.
