Miller Precision Ranger 9X
The Ranger 9X (“Extreme Comp”) is the flagship of the Miller Precision line: a 5-inch-overall compensated 2011 that ships with both a compensator and a sight block, so the owner can swap between a comped race setup and a plain front-sight block without tools or a gunsmith, thanks to the linkless, threadless barrel. A dual-port compensator is available as an option.
Reviewers have taken to it. Inside Safariland called it “a very good pistol” that “feels great and performed well in tests,” measured the trigger at roughly 2 lb with about a millimeter of take-up, and concluded that anyone considering a high-end 2011 should take a look. The 9X runs Miller’s patent-pending Easy Adjust trigger at 2 to 2.5 lb, a patent-pending reversible magazine release, ambidextrous slide stop and safeties, an external extractor and the proprietary optic-plate system with co-witness irons, with a competition magwell, pinned grip safety and blackout sights.

Miller Precision Ranger 9X FAQ
Can I remove the compensator on the Ranger 9X?
Yes. The 9X ships with both a compensator and a sight block, and the threadless linkless barrel lets you swap between them quickly, similar to a tri-lug system.
What is the trigger pull on the 9X?
Miller lists 2 to 2.5 lb from the Easy Adjust trigger; Inside Safariland measured about 2 lb with roughly 1 mm of take-up and a 1–2 mm reset.
What ammo does the Ranger 9X like?
It is set up for standard 9mm; Inside Safariland noted its test gun preferred 124- and 147-grain loads over 115-grain. We are happy to recommend loads that run well.
What are the finish options?
Black DLC or Silver PVD, with four grip-texture patterns and black or blue trigger shoes.
