Miller Precision Pistols
Miller Precision Firearms builds the Ranger 9 family of 2011-style (double-stack 1911) 9mm pistols in Sarasota, Florida. Founder Houston Miller spent his working life on machining projects before turning to double-stack 1911s, and the company’s tagline — “We Manufacture the Future” — sums up its approach: keep the 1911 feel, fix the parts that frustrate owners. Cajun Gun And Gear is the only authorized Miller Precision dealer in the state of Louisiana.
Every Ranger is built around a linkless barrel. Dropping John Browning’s swinging link simplifies the design, makes takedown and cleaning easier, and lets you swap to a ported, threaded or compensated barrel without a gunsmith. Add the patent-pending Easy Adjust trigger (take-up and overtravel tuned without disassembly), a patent-pending ambidextrous reversible magazine release, ambidextrous slide stop and safeties, an external extractor and Miller’s own optic-plate system that keeps co-witness irons, and you have a 2011 that looks familiar but is not. Each ships with an RMR/SRO plate, two Atlas Gunworks magazines and a lifetime warranty that transfers to used guns.
The line runs from the compensated Ranger 9X flagship and the new 5-inch ported island-barrel 9i, through the 4.4-inch 9C and island-barrel 9Ci, down to the 4-inch 9SC sub-compact on a 120mm carry grip. All are offered in Black DLC or Silver PVD with a choice of grip textures, trigger shoes, magwells and optic plates.

Where are Miller Precision pistols made?
Miller Precision Firearms is based in Sarasota, Florida, where the Ranger 9 pistols and Miller’s 2011 parts are machined.
What is a linkless barrel and why does it matter?
Traditional 1911s lock and unlock with a swinging link under the barrel. Miller removes the link, adds an external extractor and longer internal rails, and simplifies the design — takedown and cleaning are easier and owners can swap to ported, threaded or compensated barrels themselves.
What is the Easy Adjust trigger?
Miller’s patent-pending trigger lets you adjust take-up and overtravel without taking the pistol apart. It is offered with a curved or flat shoe in black or blue, set at 2–2.5 lb on the competition models and 3–3.5 lb on the 9SC.
Which Ranger 9 is best for carry?
The 4-inch Ranger 9SC on its 120mm carry grip is the concealment gun; the 4.4-inch Ranger 9C adds a full grip, night sights and a functional grip safety for duty or everyday carry; the 9Ci is the ported-island compact.
Which Ranger 9 is best for competition?
The compensated Ranger 9X is the flagship, and the new ported island-barrel Ranger 9i is the non-comp alternative. Miller does not name specific USPSA divisions, so check your rulebook.
Is the Ranger 9 ambidextrous?
Yes. Every Ranger has a patent-pending ambidextrous (reversible) magazine release, an ambidextrous slide stop and ambidextrous thumb safeties.
What optics fit a Miller Precision Ranger?
Miller’s proprietary plate system keeps co-witness irons. An RMR/SRO plate is included; plates for Aimpoint Acro, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, Holosun K / RMSc and RMRcc, and an iron-sight plate are available. Glock sight compatibility is also offered.
What magazines do Ranger 9 pistols use?
Standard 2011-pattern magazines. Each pistol ships with two Atlas Gunworks magazines; dealers list 17 rounds for full-size and 15 rounds for the compacts.
What finishes are available?
Black DLC or Silver PVD on every model, with Standard or Enhanced Diamond and Dot grip textures.
Is the grip safety functional?
Only on the Ranger 9C. The 9i, 9Ci, 9X and 9SC ship with a pinned, non-functional grip safety.
What is the Miller Precision warranty?
A lifetime warranty against defects in material and craftsmanship that covers new and used pistols. It excludes reloaded or remanufactured ammunition, misuse, unauthorized modification and cosmetic wear. Registering your serial number with Miller also earns a free gift.
How much do Miller Precision pistols cost?
Miller publishes price ranges by configuration on its site; our current pricing is on each product listing below or by phone. The Ranger 9 line sits below most hand-fit custom 2011s while offering features they do not have.
Can I order a Ranger 9 you do not have in stock?
