Q Firearms & Suppressors
Q, LLC is an American firearms and silencer manufacturer headquartered in Dover, New Hampshire, founded by Kevin Brittingham. Brittingham previously founded suppressor maker Advanced Armament Corp. (AAC), which he sold to Remington, and later worked at SIG before starting Q.
Q revived and improved the Honey Badger, a compact .300 BLK platform he originally conceived at AAC, and with VP of engineering Ethan Lessard developed the 8.6 Blackout cartridge, launched commercially in 2023. The company is known for unconventionally named products such as the Honey Badger, Sugar Weasel, BOOMBOX, The Fix and Trash Panda.
What sets Q apart:
- Designs and manufactures firearms and suppressors 100% in the USA
- Lifetime warranty on every firearm and suppressor
- Developed the 8.6 BLK cartridge and builds dedicated 8.6 BLK rifles and suppressors
- Firearms designed to run suppressed, with Cherry Bomb muzzle devices matched to QUICKIE fast-attach suppressors
- The Fix bolt action built from the ground up rather than on a Remington 700 action
- Sold through authorized dealers and buying groups (NBS, Sports Inc., Worldwide)

Q FAQ
Is Cajun Gun And Gear an authorized Q dealer?
Yes. Cajun Gun And Gear in Lafayette is an authorized Q dealer. Visit us at 108 Youngsville Hwy, Lafayette, LA 70508 or call 337.999.0373.
Where is Q located and who founded it?
Q, LLC is headquartered at 110 Venture Dr, Dover, New Hampshire. It was founded by Kevin Brittingham, who previously founded Advanced Armament Corp. (AAC).
Are Q firearms and suppressors made in the USA?
Yes. Q states that its firearms and suppressors are designed and manufactured 100% in the USA.
What warranty does Q offer?
Q says every firearm and suppressor carries a lifetime warranty covering defects in materials or craftsmanship; its FAQ says Q will repair, replace or refund, though some costs may apply depending on the scenario. Service requests go through Q's RMA form.
Can I buy a Q firearm directly from Q?
Q firearms are sold through authorized dealers, and product pages direct buyers to Q's dealer locator. Q does not offer serialized items on its website apart from small-batch exclusives.
How does buying a Q suppressor or SBR work?
NFA items require ATF approval and must transfer through a licensed FFL/SOT dealer in your home state. Q files a Form 3 to send the item to your dealer, then your dealer handles the Form 4 transfer to you.
What is 8.6 BLK?
8.6 Blackout is a cartridge developed by Kevin Brittingham and Q VP of engineering Ethan Lessard, designed for both supersonic and subsonic performance. Q launched it commercially in 2023, and its 8.6 BLK guns use a 1:3 twist.
Which Q firearms come in 8.6 BLK?
The BOOMBOX (8", 12" and 16") and The Fix (8" and 12" SBR and pistol versions) are offered in 8.6 BLK.
What magazines does the BOOMBOX use?
Q lists the BOOMBOX as compatible with SR-25 pattern magazines.
Is the Honey Badger piston driven?
No. Q says the Honey Badger is direct impingement and uses a proprietary buffer system, so aftermarket buffers such as the JP Silent Capture Spring are not compatible.
What is the difference between the Honey Badger and the Sugar Weasel?
Q describes the Sugar Weasel as a simplified, more affordable version of the Honey Badger. Sugar Weasel models list at $2,000 versus $3,200-$3,700 for Honey Badger models on Q's site.
Do 16-inch Q rifles require a tax stamp?
Q notes that its 16" rifles, such as The Fix 16", BOOMBOX 16" and Sugar Weasel 16", do not require an NFA tax stamp; SBR versions are NFA regulated.
What is the Quickie mount?
Most Q suppressors use the QUICKIE fast-attach system, mounting to Q's Cherry Bomb or Rear End muzzle devices. The Full Nelson, Half Nelson, ERECTOR, ERECT9R and El Camino are direct-mount instead.
Can I order a Q model you do not have in stock?
Yes. We can order any current Q model — call 337.999.0373, email us, or stop in.
Do you ship Q firearms out of state?
Yes. We ship to your local FFL dealer, who completes the transfer paperwork.
