Christensen Arms
Christensen Arms was founded in 1995 by Roland Christensen, a composites engineer who had founded ACT Aerospace, a maker of lightweight composite parts for aircraft and spacecraft. In 1993 he proposed contouring a stainless steel rifle barrel and reinforcing it with carbon fiber, and that carbon-wrapped barrel became the foundation of the company's rifles.
In 2003 Christensen says it became the first in the firearms industry to produce aerograde carbon fiber stocks. The company began near Fayette, Utah, and moved to neighboring Gunnison, where it builds its rifles by hand.
What sets Christensen Arms apart:
- Carbon fiber-wrapped 416R stainless match-grade barrels
- In-house aerograde carbon fiber and FFT carbon stocks
- Sub-MOA accuracy guarantee on most rifles; half-MOA on select models (TFM, Summit Ti)
- Titanium-action options (Ridgeline FFT Titanium, Summit Ti)
- Hand-built in Gunnison, Utah
- Rem 700-footprint actions with TriggerTech triggers on most bolt guns

Where are Christensen Arms rifles made?
Christensen Arms rifles are hand-built in Gunnison, Utah, USA. Stock making, machining, assembly and inspection happen under one roof there.
Who founded Christensen Arms and when?
Roland Christensen, a composites engineer with a PhD in mechanical engineering, founded the company in 1995. He had earlier founded ACT Aerospace, which made lightweight composite parts for aircraft and spacecraft.
What is a carbon fiber barrel?
A Christensen carbon fiber barrel is a match-grade 416R stainless steel core that is tensioned and wrapped in aerograde carbon fiber. The design aims to cut weight while keeping rigidity and accuracy.
Are all Christensen Arms barrels carbon fiber?
No. Most models use carbon-wrapped barrels. The Mesa FFT, Mesa Long Range, MPR Competition and Ranger use all-stainless 416R barrels, and the Evoke uses a Cerakoted 416R stainless barrel.
What is the Christensen Arms accuracy guarantee?
Most rifles are guaranteed sub-MOA, meaning 3 shots within 1 MOA at 100 yards. The TFM and Summit Ti carry a half-MOA guarantee, and the rimfires are guaranteed sub-MOA at 50 yards. The guarantee assumes proper break-in and high-quality match-grade ammunition.
Do any calibers not qualify for the accuracy guarantee?
Yes. Christensen excludes .375 H&H on the Ridgeline FFT, Ridgeline Safari and Traverse, .450 Bushmaster on the Evoke and Ridgeline Scout, and .300 BLK on the Ridgeline Scout.
What warranty comes with a Christensen Arms rifle?
Christensen will correct defects in material, workmanship and mechanical function for the lifetime of the original purchaser. The warranty is not transferable. It excludes normal wear, misuse, ammunition damage and unauthorized alterations, and it requires the maintenance listed in the manual.
What is Christensen's lightest rifle?
Among current models, the Ridgeline FFT Titanium has the lowest listed starting weight at 4.8 lbs. The standard Ridgeline FFT starts at 5.4 lbs and the Summit Ti at 5.5 lbs.
What is Christensen's most affordable rifle?
The Evoke, Christensen's entry-level hunting rifle, has a listed price of $998.99-$1,048.99. The Mesa FFT is listed at $1,499.99.
Are Christensen bolt actions compatible with Remington 700 parts?
Most Christensen bolt actions are built on a Remington 700 footprint and take standard Rem 700 optic bases. Many with internal magazines can use AICS-style detachable magazines with an aftermarket conversion kit.
What triggers do Christensen rifles use?
Most current bolt-action rifles use TriggerTech triggers. The Evoke's adjusts from 2.5 to 5 lbs. The CA-10 and CA-15 ARs use a precision match-grade trigger, and the CA5five6 FFT uses a TriggerTech single stage.
Are left-handed Christensen rifles available?
Yes. Christensen has a Left-Handed Rifles category, and the Ridgeline FFT and Mesa FFT are offered in left-hand versions in some configurations.
